Chief Anthony Bean Burpee began his career in August 1995 being hired as a Corrections Officer with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in Maine. He remained there until being hired as a full-time patrol officer with the Kennebunk (ME) Police Department in August 1998. During his 16-year career with the Town of Kennebunk, Chief Bean Burpee held the positions of School Resource Officer, Juvenile Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Communications Commander, Public Information Officer, Training Supervisor, and Professional Standards/Criminal Investigations Division Commander. Chief Bean Burpee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and two Master’s degrees; one in Criminal Justice and one in Public Administration. From September 2009 through June 2014 he was a Criminal Justice adjunct professor at the York County Community College in Wells, Maine. He is also a certified TASER instructor. Chief Bean Burpee was appointed Chief of Police effective June 1, 2014, in Gilford.

Dep. Kelley a life long resident of the Lakes Region started his law enforcement career with the Gilford Police Department in 1999 after graduating from college with a degree in Criminal Justice. He has served in many capacities while working for Gilford PD. and is currently the Deputy Chief of Police. Dep. Kelley is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 259th Session, graduating in March of 2015. Dep. Kelley enjoys spending time with his family and experiencing all that the Lakes Region has to offer. Lt. Leach earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY College at Fredonia prior to entering law enforcement. Since becoming a full-time police officer, he has attended many schools and trainings related to management and leadership, as well as firearms and Use of Force instructor training. It has been his distinct honor and privilege to serve the Town of Gilford and its community as a police officer since 1991. Having taken an oath to protect and serve, Lt. Leach promises to always do his best for Gilford citizens and visitors when called upon as he holds himself and those with whom he works to the highest professional standards.

Sgt. O’Connor joined Gilford PD in 2002 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Bureau. He has been a resident of Gilford since 1980, and graduated in 1997 from Plymouth State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management Finance. Having had many family members involved in the law enforcement field, Sgt. O\'Connor is proud to carry on the family tradition. While not at work, he spending time with his wife Diana, and three daughters, Kaelan, Brenna, and Layne. Sgt. O’Connor is an avid skier, mountain biker, and also enjoys weightlifting. Sgt. Bredbury began his law enforcement career in 1989 as a part-time police officer with the Sanbornton (NH) Police Department. Later that year, he started working for Gilford PD as a full-time Communications Specialist. He was eventually promoted to a full-time patrol officer position. Sgt. Bredbury is currently the agency's Prosecutor. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his two children. Personal Message: Believe in yourself. Sgt. Parent grew up in northern NH and moved to the Lakes Region after having attended college in southern Maine. He began his law enforcement career as a part-time patrol officer with the Loudon (NH) Police Department. One year later, his joined Gilford PD as a full-time patrol officer. After two years of service, Sgt. Parent was partnered with K9 Agbar and remained the agency's sole K9 handler for eight years until K9 Agbar was retired. In his spare time, Sgt. Parent spends his time hunting and fishing. Personal Message: You can accomplish anything through perseverance and hard work.

Sgt. Jacques began his career in law enforcement with Gilford PD in 2001 and later graduated from the 127th NH Police Academy. In 2008 he was assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and in 2013 promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant. Sgt. Jacques oversees all felony level investigations within the agency; is responsible for the processing, handling, and storage of all physical evidence; and works closely with outside criminal justice agencies to include the Belknap County Attorney, NH State Police Narcotics & Investigations Unit, NH Attorney General’s Drug Task Force, and other local departments. He is also a Technical Accident Reconstructionist and a member of the Belknap Regional Accident Investigation Team. Born and raised in the Lakes Region, Sgt. Jacques attended Bishop Brady in Concord (NH), graduating in 1994. He is married and has two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys a wide variety of music, movies, hunting, fishing, or being outdoors in any capacity he can. Sergeant VanSteensburg is originally from the Somerville, MA, area, which is where he was born and raised. Beginning at age five, he began spending summers in the Lakes Region. As a result of having fallen in love with the area, he moved to NH, permanently, in 1998. Following his lifelong dream of one day becoming a police officer, he joined Gilford PD in 2009. Sergeant VanSteensburg is an active Honor Guard member and oversees the department's Police Explorers Post. He loves serving the Gilford community and look forward to meeting citizens and visitors.

PFC Wall has been employed by Gilford PD since 2000; however, currently has over 20 years of law enforcement experience as he had been previously employed by the Brookline (NH) Police Department, the NH State Prison, and the Hillsborough County (NH) Sheriff’s Department. PFC Wall also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He is an agency Field Training Officer, a member of the department's Honor Guard, and a firearms and TASER instructor. PFC Wall is currently assigned to the Patrol Bureau. During his time off from work, he enjoys working out, target shooting, and spending time with his son and friends.

Contact: SRO O'Neill joined Gilford PD in 2004. After graduating from Newport (NH) High School in 1997, he moved to Michigan where he attended and graduated from college with a Criminal Justice degree, and where he met his wife. Family and having a love for NH brought him back to the area. Dan is a certified firearms armorer and instructor, PBT Instructor, D.A.R.E. instructor, and received a Life Saving recognition while working patrol duty. Officer Baron began his law enforcement career in 2005 by first working with the State of NH Department of Corrections and then the Belmont (NH) Police Department. In 2010, he joined Gilford PD. Officer Baron is a certified Motor Patrolman (for motorcycle units), Driving Instructor, and Motorcycle Instructor. Officer Baron was instrumental in establishing Gilford PD's motor unit in 2012 by adding a Police Harley Davidson to vehicle fleet. While not working, Officer Baron enjoys the Lakes Region area and loves spending time with his wife and children.

Officer Rouse grew up in Deerfield, NH, attending Winnacunnet High School in Hampton. He started a career in the electrical field a few years after high school while also attending Manchester Community College and majoring in Electrical Technology. Officer Rouse had always admired those in law enforcement who dedicated their lives to the service of others. He has one older brother who is working as a police officer. After going on a ride-along with him, Officer Rouse decided that he, too, wanted to be a part of something greater. He started his career in law enforcement with the Gilford Police Department in Feb. 2017. Officer Rouse enjoys spending time with his family, working with his hands, going to the gym, community service, traveling, and target shooting. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and swimming. Personal message: Anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Officer deSousa has over 20 year of part-time law enforcement experience having once worked for the Laconia (NH) Police Department and now working for Gilford PD. At one time, Officer deSousa was a full-time patrol officer at Gilford PD after having been employed as a Senior Director at Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH, where he was responsible for the 401k and 403b service centers. He has also served as Assistant Vice President of Broker Dealer Operations at Lincoln Financial Network in Concord, NH. Officer deSousa is a graduate of Plymouth State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Management with a Business Administration minor. He is also a graduate of the New Hampshire Technical Institute and holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice. While currently back at Fidelity Investments full-time, he still maintains his part-time status with Gilford PD. He served three years in the U.S. Army. Officer deSousa gives back to the community by volunteering as a Gilford Police Relief Association member, Umpire and Chief of the Tilton-Northfield Little League, referee for the Laconia Recreational Soccer League, and being a member of the Winnisquam Regional School District Budget Committee. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and friends anytime of year.

Communications Specialist/CTO Doris grew up in West Roxbury, MA, and moved to the Lakes Region in 1996. He comes from a long line of law enforcement family members. His law enforcement career began as a Military Policeman in the Army National Guard. In 1986, he joined the Boston (MA) Police Department as a public safety dispatcher. In 1995 he became a supervisor for New Hampshire's E-9-1-1 system. In 1998 he joined Gilford PD. He holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from NH Technical Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from Springfield College. Prior to moving permanently to NH, he studied Culinary Arts at the prestigious Bunker Hill Community College. Comm. Specialist/CTO Doris enjoys spending time with his beautiful daughter and son, barbequing and making fabulous pizza, boating, making people laugh, music, sports and "useless" trivia. She is currently the Treasurer for the Gilford Police Relief Association and a Certified Training Officer. She is married to her wonderful husband Andrew. Technical Assistant Kim Horan started her career with the Town of Gilford in 1985 as the Executive Secretary to the Town Administrator. In 1987 Kim became the Administrative Assistant in the Department of Planning and Land Use Office where she worked for seven Years then transferred to the Gilford Police Department in 1974 where she has served in the same position. Kim is married to Ed and has two children, Justin and Adam. When Kim is not working she enjoys spending time with her friends and Family.
