HELP WANTED – PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Gilford Police Department (GPD) has an immediate opening for a seasonal part-time position of Parking Enforcement Officer at the Glendale Facility.  This position is for April 1st through October 31st with a focus being between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Minimum Qualifications:  Must be 21 years of age, must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, corrected vision to 20/20 in both eyes, normal hearing, and mental fitness.

GPD is a progressive police agency located on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in central New Hampshire.  Gilford, having the slogan “Recreation Center of New Hampshire,” boasts several miles of lakeshore for boating and fishing, the Gunstock Mtn. Ski resort, and the Bank of NH Pavilion concert venue.  GPD operates in a state of the art facility built in 2015, which houses a fitness center and large training facility that boasts the latest in equipment and technology.  

Successful candidate must:

  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Have superior communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in order to tactfully and effectively interact with and instruct the public.
  • Have the ability to work independently, during most of the day, under only general instructions and supervision.
  • Have the ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Be flexible with a work schedule that includes some nights, weekends, and holidays in order to meet operational needs.
  • Be able to work effectively in hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Be able to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle.
