Kainen was a member of the Gilford Police Department and an avid sportsman.  He loved the outdoors and especially loved fishing.  Kainen was lost on June 4th, 2003 after falling from his boat on Lake Winnisquam, doing what he loved, fishing.  During Kainen's time at the Gilford Police Department, he was very involved in the youth of the community and would volunteer his time with any youth program.  We at the Gilford Police Department along with his family and law enforcement friends would like to keep his spirit and love for our communities youth alive by holding the 7th Annual Kainen M. Flynn Memorial Fishing Derby in his honor.  As I'm sure Kainen would tell you, always remember to wear your life vest, have a great time and catch a big one for him.
