BOARD & COMMITTEE
The Gilford Board of Selectmen is seeking civic-minded residents to serve as community volunteers on the following Boards and Committees:
• Capital Improvement Program Committee (3 year terms)
This group is tasked with reviewing expenditure requests from Town and School departments for the purpose of developing a 6 year spending plan
• Zoning Board of Adjustment – Alternate Members (1 year term)
This group generally meets on the last Tuesday of each month to conducts hearings on requests for Zoning Ordinance special exceptions and variances, as well as appeals of administrative decisions made by the Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector.
• Recreation Commission – Alternate Members (1 year term)
This group generally meets on the first Monday evening of each month to review recreation programs, facilities, fees and special events. Commission members often help the Parks & Recreation staff as volunteers.
• Planning Board - Alternate Members (1 year term)
This group generally meets on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month to review subdivision and site plan applications. They also make recommendations on updates to the Zoning Ordinance and Master Plan.

Serving as an Alternate Member is a great way to gain “on-the-job” experience while learning more about Town regulations and procedures.
