2014 Boat Registration RenewalsPosted Feb 18, 2014
2014 Boat Decals are now available at the Gilford Town Hall, Town Clerk – Tax Collector’s Office for registering your boat.
By registering your boat locally you will add tax dollars to the general fund and also support NH Marine Patrol as funds are forwarded from the Town to the State for each registration on a weekly basis. If you choose to use the prepaid mailer provided and send your registration directly to the State of NH-DMV, or bring in person to a State DMV agency (including Marine Patrol) for processing the State does not forward any funds to the local towns and cities. No monies will go to the local general fund.
The Town Clerk – Tax Collector’s Office is able to process your registration(s) through the mail or in person for your convenience. A $5.00 agent fee is required to be added to each registration completed by an agent. If you choose not to pay the $5.00 agent fee, you can pay the town boat tax on the registration and with a receipt you can forward to the State DMV with no additional charges. To process by mail send your SIGNED renewal notice, with one check made payable to the Town of Gilford which will include your boat registration fee and include the agent fee. Call or email if you have any questions.
The boat tax collected from a Gilford Boat Agent and deposited into the general fund is helping to manage, conserve and restore Gilford’s natural resources. I encourage you to process your boat at my office or one of Gilford’s other local Boat Agents (Gator, Inc., Irwin Marine at Mountain View Yacht Club, or Silver Sands Marina).
The Town Clerk – Tax Collector’s Office hours are Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. & Thursdays 8.00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Please bring in your renewal form(s) that were mailed to you from the State of NH. The owner of the boat must sign the Registration(s). We are now accepting credit cards the 2.95% convenience fee of will be charged back to the customer paying by credit card. If you have any questions feel free to telephone (603) 527-4713 or email firstname.lastname@example.org directly.
