  • Celtics Bus Trip

    We will be taking a family bus trip to Boston to watch the Celtics take on the Chicago Bulls on Friday, January 16, 2015.

    Key Information
    • Bus Departs from the Gilford High School at 5:00 p.m.
    • Game Time is Scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
    • Anticipated Time of Return is 12:00 a.m.
    • Cost: $123.00 for Lower Level Loge seating or $93.00 Upper Level Balcony Seating

  • Adult Coed Volleyball

    A fun pick-up volleyball program for adults age 18+ of all abilities.


    Key Information

    • Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gym.
    • Program runs from Sept. 30, 2014 - May 19, 2015 (program will not run during certain days that the gym is unavailable - holidays, school functions, town voting, etc.)
    • Cost: $2.00/per day
    • Register at the Gym the first evening you play.

  • Men's Pick-up Basketball

    • Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gym.
    • Program runs from October 16, 2014 - November 13, 2014
    • Cost: $2.00/per day
    • Register at the Gym the first evening you play.

  • Senior Moment-um Program

    Senior Moment-um is an active senior adult program that meets regularly on Mondays. This program is open to residents of Gilford and the surrounding communities


    Please RSVP to the Gilford Parks and Recreation Department by the date specified, by calling the office at 527-4722.   All RSVP’s must go thru the office and not email.

    September 22- Tennis   

    Have you ever wanted to learn the game or need a quick refresher?  We will meet at 10am at the Gilford Village Tennis Courts.  Gilford Parks and Recreation Director Herb Greene will be giving us a quick start lesson on the game of tennis.  We will be providing modified equipment; smaller rackets and slower bouncing balls.  Participants are also welcome to bring their own rackets.  Please call with any questions.  Please RSVP by 9/19.


    September 29- ‘Apples to Apples’ Game Day

    We will meet at the Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 12 noon for an afternoon of game playing.  In honor of fall we will be playing the game ‘Apples to Apples.’  This is a game sure to entertain and humor you.  Bring your lunch and join us for an afternoon of fun and laughter.  Please RSVP by 9/26.


    October 6- Cannon Mt. Aerial Tramway

    We will be heading north to Cannon Mountain to ride the Aerial Tramway to enjoy the foliage.  Did you know that the tram ride is FREE to NH Residents over the age of 65?  Bring proof of age and residency (driver’s license or non-driver’s id).  Adult cost or non-residents are $15.  We will enjoy the views from the observation deck.  Bring a bag lunch or eat in the cafeteria (at your own expense) the choice is yours! We will meet at 8:15 at Town Hall Lobby for an 8:30 departure, (estimated return time 3pm). RSVP is required by October 3.  Let us know if you need a ride or are available to drive!  This trip is weather permitting.


    October 13- Columbus Day!  No Program


    October 20- Lunch and a Movie   

    We will meet at the Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11am for lunch and a movie!  In honor of Halloween we will be watching ‘Young Frankenstein’.  The movie is FREE of charge.  We will also have lunch available for anyone interested at $2 per person which will include homemade Goblin’s Goop (Beef Stew) and bread. Please RSVP by October 18.                              


    October 24 (Friday) - Volunteers needed!!

    We need help for our town Halloween party from 5-7 pm which is held at the Gilford Middle School.  We need volunteers to run our games, raffles, etc.  It is always fun to see the kids in their costumes!!  Please call 527-4722 by 10/22 if you can help out!!

     

    October 27- Cooking Day!!

    Halloween is just around the corner and we will be making candy to celebrate.  Grace Herbert will join us again and share her recipe for her delicious homemade caramels!!  We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30am.  Bring your lunch and join us for a sweet treat!!  Please RSVP by 10/24.

  • Adult Fall Hiking Program

    The Gilford Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of Tuesday fall hikes for any adults looking to get out enjoy the great outdoors. 

     

     

    Hike Cost: $1 per person/per hike

     

    Suggested Itinerary (estimated) round trip hiking distance listed):


    September 16 – Winnipesaukee River Trail, Tilton  6.4 miles


    September 23 – Ramblin' Vewe Farm, Gilford  2 miles


    September 30 - Locke's Hill, Gilford   2 miles


    October 7 – West Rattlesnake, Holderness   2 miles 


    October 14 - Waukewan Highlands Park, Meredith  1.5 miles  

     

    Additional hikes may be added as weather allows

     

    We will meet at the Gilford Town Hall at 9:00 AM to sign waivers and car pool to our destinations.  Please bring water and snack for each hike.  Remember to wear proper footwear and dress in layers.  Please RSVP to the Gilford Parks and Recreation office at least one day in advance of each trip so you can be notified of any cancellations.
