  • April Vacation Trips

    We will be offering two trips during April vacation week for Gilford students.  Each trip needs to reach a minimum of 24 participants in order to run.

    Trip 1 - New England Aquarium Trip - Tuesday, April 28th
    Open to Students in grades 1-4
    Bus leaves GES at 7:45am and returns at 4:00pm
    Cost: $36.00 per participant (includes admission to aquarium and all exhibits)


    Trip 2 - Boston Museum of Science Trip - Thursday, April 30th
    Open to Students in Grades 5-8
    Bus leaves GES at 7:30am and returns at 5:00pm
    Cost: $39.00 per participant (includes admission to exhibit halls and planetarium show "Explore the Galaxy"
    Optional Lunch package available for $6.25

  • Bike Safety Rodeo

    A fun program for children of all ages where they can have their bicycles safety inspected, licensed by the Police Department and participate in a rider safety course.  All participants will have a chance to win raffle prizes.

    When: Saturday, May 9th from 10:00am-12:00noon

    Where: Gilford Elementary School

    Who: Children of all ages

    Cost: FREE!

  • Scotts Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

    A fun program where children have a chance to compete in three different baseball/softball skills as they hit a ball off a tee, pitch to a target and round third base and head for home!  Top participants have the chance to qualify for the State Finals competition.

    When: Saturday, May 9th at 12:30pm (sign-in at 12:15pm)

    Where: Gilford Village Field

    Who: Children ages 7-14

    Cost: FREE!

  • Bolduc Park Golf Lessons

    Youth and Adult Golf Lessons offered through Bolduc Park.  We offer a three-week session in May and June.

    Youth Lessons:
    Session I: May, 12, 19 and 26
    Session II: June 9, 16 and 23
    Class Time 5:30-6:30pm OR 6:30-7:30pm
    Cost: $50.00 per session (includes clubs and balls)

    Adult Lessons:
    Session I: May, 14, 21 and 28

  • Pheasant Ridge Golf Lessons

  • LEtGO Your Mind Summer Camp

    A fun week long camp where children will learn about robotics through the fun of LEGO!

    June 22-26 in the Gilford Middle School (9:00am - 3:00pm)


    Course Descriptions

    Amusement Park Thrill Rides & Stop Animation Ages: 6-9 $310

    Channel your inner Master Builder and create your very own LEGO amusement park thrill rides where everything is awesome!  Build some amazing amusement park thrill rides with motors and gears.  Students will build: Merry Go Rounds, Tea Cups Rides, Tilt A Whirl, motorized LEGO cars and many more.  During the afternoon create your very own LEGO Stop Animations, just like The Lego Movie!  Double Decker couches welcome.

    Minecraft / Redstone Circuits, Robotics & Stop Motion Animation: Ages 9-13  $310

    3D Game Design students will utilize various Minecraft skills to customize and create their own legendary worlds!  Students will learn about creating electrical circuits using Redstone.  This will help students create features like functioning doors and trap doors that operate at the push of a button.  Throughout the week students will build LEGO: Zombies, Creepers, Steve, Enderman and a LEGO city integrating electricity with their LEGO structures, then program their robots through the Minecraft maze.  During the afternoon students will create LEGO motorized cars and stop animation videos.  Students are encouraged to work in partners or may BTOD.

  • Babysitter's Training Course through McGregor EMS

    This course will provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants.  Participants will become American Heart Association certified in both CPR and First Aid.

    Session I: Monday, June 22, 2015 or Session II: Wednesday, June 24, 2015
    Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm
    Location: Gilford Public Library
    Ages: Young Adults ages 11-16
    Cost: $35.00 per participant

  • Archery Lessons

    Certified Archery Instructors from Archery In Motion will be leading a four-week archery instruction session for Youth and Adults ages 7 and up.  Lessons will be held on Tuesday afternoons/evenings from July 7 - July 29 at the Arthur A. Tilton Ice Rink.


    4:00 – 5:00pm    Introductory/Beginners

    5:15 – 6:15pm    Intermediate (Have been through Introductory Lessons)

                                        

    Fee: $60.00 per participant (includes all necessary equipment)

  • Tennis Lessons

    Certified Tennis Pro’s from the Gilford Hills Tennis and Fitness Club will be teaching a 4-week tennis lesson session for youth and adults.  Lessons will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from July 6 - July 29 at the Village Field Tennis Courts. 


    The anticipated schedule is as follows:

    5:00 – 6:00pm    5-7 year olds

    6:00 – 7:00pm    8-10 year olds

    6:00 – 7:00pm    11-14 year olds

    7:00 – 8:00pm    15-Adult

    Fee: $60.00 per participant

  • Shooters Gold Basketball Camp

    Shooter's Gold is a week-long basketball camp run under the direction of Coach Paul Hogan.  The camp will focus on the fundamentals of basketball including proper shooting form, post moves and how to play the game.

    Camp will be held in the Gilford Middle School from July 6-10, 2015

    Session I  8:00-10:00am for children entering grades 1-4
    Session II 8:00am-12:10pm for children entering grades 5-8

  • Challenger British Soccer Camp

    A week long soccer camp with coaches from Great Britain.  This camp will focus on skill development through a variety of fun games, while also education participants of the culture of many soccer loving countries.

    Dates: July 13-17, 2015
    Location: Gilford Village Field
    Half Day: Ages 6-12 from 9:00am-12:00noon  $126.00
    Mini Soccer: Ages 3-5 from 5:00-6:30pm   $94.00

  • Pre-School Summer Soccer Camp

    This camp will provide participants with a fun introduction to basic soccer skills.  Participants should come prepared to be outdoors, however the program may be moved to the Gilford Youth Center in the event of rain.  All participants should plan to bring a bottle of water each day.

    Dates: July 27 - July 30, 2015
    Times: 8:30 - 9:30 AM

  • Sciensational Workshops For Kids

    Sciensational Workshops for Kids: Advanced Robotics - The Ultimate Experience is a two-day long science program where children will get to build the Jungle Robot, and advanced level robot.  There are may steps in the assembly process, one of which is the gear box.  Participants will learn how different types of gears mesh and are driven by a motor.  They connect the motor, battery and microphone to a circuit board, which will program their sound activated (clap of the hand) robot.  Participants get to take home their completed robot at the end of the program!

  • Senior Moment-um Program

    Senior Moment-um is an active senior adult program that meets regularly on Mondays. This program is open to residents of Gilford and the surrounding communities


    Please RSVP to the Gilford Parks and Recreation Department by the date specified, by calling the office at 527-4722.   All RSVP’s must go thru the office and not email.!

    Hosted by the GHS Student Council and Interact Club

    Dinner at 5:00 pm (American Chop Suey), followed by dancing

    Taking place in the Gilford High School Cafeteria

    NO Charge for Admission!!

    May 4 – Funspot Mini Golf

    We will meet at Funspot to take on the challenge of their 18-hole indoor mini golf course.  Join us upstairs at Funspot at 10:30 am.  For $5.00, you will be able to “drive, chip, and putt” your way through a fun course featuring NH landmarks!  Please RSVP by Friday,

    May 11 – Guest “Chef” Day

    We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 10:00 am.  Our friend and guest chef Grace Herbert will once again dazzle us with her recipes and cooking tips!  By request, Grace will be walking us through her recipe for Angel Food Cake.  Please bring your own lunch – as always, coffee, tea, and water will be provided.  We’ll do the recipe demo first, pop the cake in the oven, eat lunch, and then enjoy our creation with some strawberries and whipped cream for dessert!!  Who could ask for more???  Please RSVP by Friday, May 8.  By the way, Happy Mother’s Day, too!!!


    May 18 – Brunch and Bingo

    Food, friendship, and fun – please meet us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 9:30 am for quiche and fruit salad – and a little Bingo thrown in!!  The brunch cost is $2.00 per person, with coffee, tea, and water provided.  A mixture of small prizes will be awarded to the winners.  So, do you feel LUCKY??  Please RSVP by Thursday, May 14.


    May 22 – Game Day (Friday)

    Rescheduled from April 22, we’re finally having our game day!  Sponsored by the Early Act Club from our Gilford Middle and Elementary Schools, there will be an afternoon of great games from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm at the Gilford High School cafeteria.  The afternoon will feature Scrabble, Uno, Yahtzee, Clue, Life, card games, checkers, chess, Trivial Pursuit, and Pursuit and refreshments. So pick your game or games and join us for this fun-filled time with this great group of young people!  Please RSVP by Wednesday, May 20.

    June 1 – BBQ and Field Games

    Who can resist a barbecue in the summer?  Not us!!  We will be meeting at 11:30 am at the Gilford Village Field for an afternoon of fun and fellowship – and a little friendly competition as well.  We will enjoy a BBQ lunch and play some bocce and croquet to help work off all we’ll eat.  Please bring a dish to share (appetizer, side, or dessert) for our potluck.  Your RSVP is needed by Thursday, May 28 so we can plan our shopping.  When you RSVP, please let us know what you will be bringing as well.  Our rain date will be Wednesday, June 3 – let’s all hope for sunshine!

      

    June 8 – Chair Yoga Demonstration

    How about a little relaxing movement – who couldn’t use some of that?  Gilford resident and yoga instructor Rosemary Shannon is going to come and do a brief chair yoga demonstration for us.  You will be able to stay seated and participate in some gentle, relaxing stretching with a lot of support.  Meet us at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 am for this 20 minute participation/demonstration.  Please be sure to bring your lunch, so that after the demo, and we’re all stretched out and relaxed, we can stay and enjoy each others’ company.  Please RSVP by Friday, June 5.                                

    June 15 – Breakfast and a Movie

    We will be meeting at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 9:00 am for breakfast and a movie!  Before we take a bit of a break for the summer, please join us for the fun movie “Something’s Gotta’ Give.”  It stars Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton as a successful 60-something and 50-something, who find love for each other in later life, despite being complete opposites.  The movie and coffee, tea, and water are free of charge.  We will also have breakfast available for anyone interested at $2.00 per person.  We will be serving pancakes, sausage, and juice.  Please be sure to RSVP by Thursday, June 11 and let us know if you will be having breakfast.

  • Adult Coed Volleyball

    A fun pick-up volleyball program for adults age 18+ of all abilities.


    Key Information

    • Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gym.
    • Program runs from Sept. 30, 2014 - May 19, 2015 (program will not run during certain days that the gym is unavailable - holidays, school functions, town voting, etc.)
