  • April Vacation Fun Day


    Our April Vacation Fun Day is a one day program which includes games in the gym, craft activities, outdoor play, a pizza lunch and a field trip to the Movies!

    When: Tuesday, April 22 from 9:00am-4:00pm
    Where: Gilford Elementary School
    Who: Gilford Students in grades 1-5

  • Flashlight Egg Hunt


    Children will have the chance to search for eggs in the dark using their flashlight.  A number of eggs will include special prizes or prize tickets!

    When: Friday, April 18
    Time: Check-in at 7:40pm
    Where: Gilford Elementary School (Check-in in the cafeteria, egg hunt outdoors once it gets dark)
    Age Groups: Kindergarten and under, Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-4
    Cost: Free

  • Breakfast with the Easter Bunny


    This is an event co-sponsored with the Gilford Youth Center where families can join us for a friendly pancake breakfast where children will have a chance to meet and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny!  Additional activities include door prizes and a coloring contest!

    When: Saturday, April 19 from 8:00-10:00am
    Where: Gilford Community Church-Fellowship Hall
    Cost: $3:00 per child
             $5:00 per adult

    A fun week long camp where children will learn about robotics through the fun of Legos!

    Super Hero Sidekick ages 4-5 Half Day 9-12 $150

    Become part of a heroic comic book adventure as you create your own hero and build gears to help him save the city.  Make your hero hover, reach far distances and fly!  Build different vehicles for your hero and race against other heroes.  "Become part of a heroic adventure!"

    Super Hero League Ages: 6-9 $295

    Create your own hero and become part of a team of heroes just like the Justice League and the Avengers!  Build your own team headquarters and superhero LEGO machines to save the world and capture the bad guys.  During the afternoon, get ready to build different types of vehicles for your superhero, including a LEGO hovercraft, planes, cars and dragsters.

    Minecraft Robotics and Hovercrafts: Ages 9-12  $295.

    Play real life Minecraft as you build, clear and change landforms to create a city that can withstand natural and villain based disasters.  Save the city by creating your own hero and feel like Iron Man as you build robots to perform super hero challenges in your city.  Create and program a robot that can lift heavy objects, leap tall buildings in a single bound and follow a villain's trail.  During the afternoon, students will create many types of motorized vehicles and hovercrafts using magnetic levitation.

  • Shooters Gold Basketball Camp


    Shooter's Gold is a week-long basketball camp run under the direction of Coach Paul Hogan.  The camp will focus on the fundamentals of basketball including proper shooting form, post moves and how to play the game.

    Camp will be held in the Gilford Middle School from July 7-11, 2014

    Session I  8:00-10:00am for children entering grades 1-4
    Session II 10:15am-2:15pm for children entering grades 5-8

  • Challenger British Soccer Camp


    A week long soccer camp with coaches from Great Britain.  This camp will focus on skill development through a variety of fun games, while also education participants of the culture of many soccer loving countries.

    Dates: July 14-18, 2014
    Location: Gilford Village Field
    Half Day: Ages 6-12 from 9:00am-12:00noon  $122.00
    Mini Soccer: Ages 3-5 from 5:00-6:30pm   $91.00

  • Senior Moment-um Program


    Senior Moment-um is an active senior adult program that meets regularly on Mondays. This program is open to residents of Gilford and the surrounding communities

    Please RSVP to the Gilford Parks and Recreation Department by the date specified, by calling the office at 527-4722.   All RSVP’s must go thru the office and not email.

    March 10- Recipe Exchange

    We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 am for a recipe exchange.  Do you have a dish you’re known for at family gatherings?? Have a favorite family recipe your willingly to share.  Bring your recipe, your lunch and meet us there to share your recipes and leave with some new favorites.  If you don’t have one, join us anyway and you will leave with some great ideas!


    March 13 (Thursday) - GHS Dinner and Show “Almost, Maine”

    Please join us for dinner followed by the Gilford High School Drama Clubs’ performance of “Almost, Maine”.  We will meet in the GHS Cafeteria for a 6 pm pasta dinner. Dinner will be followed by the performance.  This event is FREE but reservations and cancellations are Mandatory.  Please RSVP with the Gilford Parks and Recreation office at 527-4722 in order to make your reservation, space is limited. Please note doors do not open until 5:45 pm.


    March 14 (Friday) - GHS Interact Winter Game Escape

    Don't let the winter cold keep you cooped up!   Please join the GHS Interact members for a fun afternoon of board games, card games, trivia, and goodies.  This will take place from 3-5 pm in the Gilford High School Cafeteria.  Please RSVP by Friday, March 7.

    March 17- Waking Ned Devine

    In honor of St. Patrick’s Day we will be watching “Waking Ned Devine” at 9:30 am in Fellowship Hall, Gilford Community Church.  In an Irish town, when lottery winner Ned Devine is found dead - lottery ticket in hand and all - the townsfolk band together to fool the authorities into thinking Ned is alive, so they can receive the cash and share it.  We will be enjoying a traditional Irish breakfast of eggs, sausage, baked beans, tomato and potato.   We will also have coffee and tea available free of charge.  Charming comedy set in a tiny, rural Irish town.  The breakfast cost is $2 per person.  Please RSVP by March 14.

    March 24- Pizza and Bingo!!

    Come and join us for a taste of Italy.  We will be making our own individual pizzas to enjoy.  We will be meeting at 11:30 am in Fellowship Hall, Gilford Community Church.  Once the pizzas are in the oven we can enjoy a few games of bingo while we wait.  The cost is $2 per person and includes all of the material to make your pizza.

    March 31- Game Day ~ Scattergories

    We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 11:30 am for an afternoon of game playing.  This game is sure to have you thinking, being creative and full of entertainment.   We will provide coffee and tea.  Bring your lunch or a snack and join us for an afternoon of fun!


    April 7- Canvas Painting

    Never painted but have the interest?  Please join us on Monday, April 7 for a unique artistic experience!   We will meet at 10 am at Art Escape on Union Ave in Laconia (next to Laconia HS) for canvas painting.  Jean will take us step by step in creating our own masterpiece.  All abilities are welcome but this is geared toward the novice painter.  The cost is $10 per person and includes all of the supplies.  Feel free to bring a snack or light lunch.  Please RSVP by April 4.


    April 14- Birdhouses

    In honor of spring we will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 12 noon to paint decorative birdhouses.  We will provide the birdhouses and paint.  Bring your lunch and creativity.


    April 28- Lunch and Laughs

    “Laughter is the best medicine.”  Need a good chuckle??  We will meet at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall at 12 noon for lunch and laughs.  Bring your lunch and a joke to share either from memory or something to read aloud.  We will provide dessert and coffee!

  • Adult Coed Volleyball


    A fun pick-up volleyball program for adults age 18+ of all abilities.

    Key Information

    • Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Gilford Middle School Gym.
    • Program runs from Oct. 8, 2013 - May 20, 2014 (program will not run during certain days that the gym is unavailable - holidays, school functions, town voting, etc.)
    • Cost: $2.00/per day

  • Pheasant Ridge's "Intro to Golf Ladies Clinic"


    For ladies who have always wanted to try golf, but have been too nervous or didn’t know where to start, this is the program for you!  Golf Pro Jim Swarthout and staff will lead you through a stress free introduction to the game in this two-hour clinic.
